DELAYED PAYMENTS: OLAGUNJU URGES IMOLE YOUTHS TO REMAIN CALM, REASSURES BENEFICIARIES OF GOVERNMENT’S ATTENTION

OSOGBO, OSUN STATE

The Osun State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, has appealed to members of the Imole Youths Corps who are yet to receive their salaries and allowances to remain calm and patient, assuring them that the concerns surrounding the delayed payments are receiving the necessary attention.

The Commissioner, who spoke on the development, acknowledged the concerns of affected beneficiaries, noting that many of them depend on their monthly stipends to meet personal responsibilities and support their families.

He said the delay is unusual, particularly given the payment experience under the administration of the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.

According to him, the situation should not be allowed to discourage the young people who have continued to contribute their time, energy and skills to the development of their communities through the Imole Youths Corps initiative.

“I understand the concerns and frustrations of our young people who are yet to receive their payments. These are young men and women who have responsibilities and depend on their stipends. However, I appeal to everyone to remain calm and patient. The present situation is unusual, and we believe it will be resolved,” he said.

Olagunju assured the beneficiaries that the Osun State Government is not insensitive to their concerns, adding that the welfare of young people remains an important part of the administration’s agenda.

He urged the Imole Youths Corps members not to allow the temporary delay to affect their commitment to their duties and responsibilities.

“To all Imole Youths Corps beneficiaries across Osun State, I want you to know that your concerns are heard. I appeal to you not to be discouraged or abandon the responsibilities entrusted to you. Continue to remain committed to your assignments and the communities you serve,” the Commissioner stated.

The Commissioner further appealed to the beneficiaries to avoid misinformation, unnecessary tension and actions capable of undermining the peaceful atmosphere in the state.

He encouraged them to rely on official information from the appropriate authorities regarding the payment situation.

“This is a difficult moment, but it is not a reason to lose hope. Let us remain calm, responsible and united. We are confident that the situation will be addressed and that our young people will have reason to smile again,” Olagunju added.

The Commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to representing the interests of young people in the state, stressing that the Ministry of Youth Affairs would continue to engage with the relevant authorities on issues affecting the welfare and participation of youths in government programmes.

He therefore urged all affected Imole Youths Corps beneficiaries to exercise patience, remain focused on their duties and continue to support the peaceful development of Osun State while awaiting further official communication on the payment.
